Kaitlyn Martin

Kaitlyn Martin serves as Administrative Coordinator for the Westhampton College. She is the main contact for scheduling meetings with Dean Mia Reinoso Genoni, Associate Dean Kerry Albright Fankhauser, Assistant Dean Ashley Daly, and Associate Dean Zara Sibtain. She helps students get timely support and guidance for both routine and urgent matters, including being a touchpoint for families, faculty, staff, and other community members. Working with Dean Genoni, Kaitlyn assists students with forms and recommendations for graduate school, scholarships, jobs, internships, transfer applications, and other opportunities. In addition, she helps to organize a variety of Westhampton events, including the Halloween and Valentine’s Day community gatherings and the end-of-semester Study Breaks. She endeavors to create an open and welcoming environment for any individual who comes through her door, and she always loves to see what a new year brings.

Kaitlyn received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from Emory & Henry College (now University) in 2017, and a Master’s in History from Virginia Tech. As she pursued her degrees she had the privilege attending the summer sessions at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and the American Academy in Rome. Kaitlyn considers herself a lifelong student of history and the arts, and she is always up for learning more about the world we live in and how we perceive it.

Kaitlyn has worked both in the academic world and the customer service industry for the past 15 years. Her experience includes being a Tutor and Teaching Assistant for Latin and Ancient History courses, working at the front desk for a small, family business, and being a part of much too large corporations. These experiences have taught her not only how to collaborate in multiple environments, but also the importance of being open, kind, and curious.

Kaitlyn moved to Richmond in 2025, but her hometown is situated along the Blue Ridge in SWVA. She enjoys walking trails, any kind of water source, whether it is an ocean or a tiny stream, and finding new places to enjoy food. She loves reading, writing, iced chai, cheesy movies, and is always open to new music recommendations. Kaitlyn is delighted to be back on a college campus and be a source of support for our students.
